RRLS Curriculum Highlights  Stanford Achievement Test (10) - River Roads is a nurturing and caring enviroment which offers a place where children can learn and will learn. Teachers stay after school to help students who need more assistance.
- All students receive life skills experience through field trips and extracurricular programs which enhance the curriculum.
- All studentts are required to read four (4) supplemental readers, with comprehensive grammar and writing components, in addition to the reading curriculum. All students participating in writing a book - they become literary authors.
- All students at River Roads experience music first hand, wether through vocal choirs or instrumental. Students participate throughout the school year at many, many performances
- Partnership with Junior Achievement Business and Economics Programs
- New... Advance Accelerated Program for students who need a little more challenge. Students will participate in advanced Math, Science, Writing and Technology activities once a week. They will also partner with another school of similar advanced programs.
- Advanced Science Projects for 7th and 8th graders, called MARS MISSION:
- Students receive extensive preparatory training in communication, navigation, life support, medical, nutrition, physical conditioning. mission control and specialist
experimentation.
- Interdisciplinary, hands on science project that incorporates physics, math and technology to challenge students. Students participate in a 72 hour simulation from Earth launch to Mars landing and return trip.
- Specific field trip partnered with other Lutheran Schools include water survival testing , high ropes course, caving exploration, model rocketry, and and ultra light (two-seater airplane built by science teachers and students in the year 2000 at River Roads). Physical conditioning includes trail bicycling and skiing.

- Advanced technology training for 7th & 8th graders. Students participate in Handheld (Palm) Computer training with LCD projector and tecnology software. All 8th graders will receive their own handheld computer to use during the school year.
- Foreign Language experience for all students, Students receive Introduction to Intermediate studies in Spanish I and II.
- Extra-crricular activities include soccer, volleyball, cross country race, track, and basketball (Pee Wee and Junior League). Students may also participate in priase dance, chess and math club, student council and cheerleaders.
